Rule 712B

Pro Bono or Low-Cost Legal Services Provided by Retired, Inactive, or Single-Employer Attorneys

Section Rules Open for Public Comment

The Kansas Supreme Court is accepting public comment on proposed amendments to Supreme Court Rule 712B. The rule establishes a process by which nonprofit legal service providers and law school clinics can be approved to use retired, inactive, or single-employer attorneys to provide pro bono services. The rule also identifies the requirements and creates the process for attorneys who want to provide these services. The proposed amendments add another category of entities that may seek approval under this rule and narrow the type of legal services that may be provided.

Proposed changes are shown using strikethrough for deletion and underlining for new language.

Comment may be made by email to until 5 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2020. The subject line must read "Rule 712B."
