TOPEKA—Seven judges were appointed to the Judicial Education Advisory Committee, and another judge was reappointed to the panel.

Appointed to three-year terms ending June 30, 2020, by Chief Justice Lawton R. Nuss of the Kansas Supreme Court were:

  • Kansas Court of Appeals Judge Steve Leben

  • Geary County District Judge Ryan Rosauer

  • Anderson County District Judge Eric Godderz

  • Johnson County District Judge Neil Foth

  • Cowley County District Judge Christopher Smith

  • Ford County Chief Judge Van Hampton

  • Rawlins County District Magistrate Judge James Schroeder.

Phillips County District Magistrate Judge Paula Hofaker was reappointed, also to a three-year term.

The committee recommends and organizes education and training programs for Kansas appellate judges, district judges, and district magistrate judges.

Members include judges from each of the six judicial departments in the state, a representative from the Office of Judicial Administration, and a Supreme Court justice.
