TOPEKA—Jennifer Hill, a Wichita attorney, was appointed to a three-year term on the Kansas Board of Examiners of Court Reporters, and Shawnee County Chief Judge Evelyn Z. Wilson was reappointed to serve another three years on the board.

Chief Justice Lawton R. Nuss of the Kansas Supreme Court appointed them to terms that begin July 1, 2017, and end June 30, 2020.

The Kansas Board of Examiners of Court Reporters supervises the granting of certificates of eligibility for certified court reporters; oversees conduct of court reporters; and reviews and acts on any complaints made against a certified court reporter. Examinations for certification of court reporters are given in May and October of each year.

The board is comprised of judges, practicing attorneys, and court reporters.

Other members of the board are Rachel L. Pickering, chair, attorney from Topeka; Labette County District Judge Jeffry Jack; Sheila Lyons, certified court reporter, 18th Judicial District, Wichita; Shirla McQueen, attorney from Liberal; Charles Motter, freelance court reporter from Lenexa; and Jennifer Olsen, certified court reporter, 3rd Judicial District, Topeka.
