TOPEKA—Four new members were appointed to the Advisory Council on Dispute Resolution, and three members were reappointed.

Chief Justice Lawton R. Nuss of the Kansas Supreme Court appointed members to serve from July 1 through June 30, 2020.

New members are Johnson County District Judge Keven O'Grady; Lyon County District Judge W. Lee Fowler; Shana O'Neill of Larned; and Ronnie Beach of Olathe.

Reappointed were Deborah Medlock of Spring Hill; Verdell Taylor Jr. of Lawrence; and Kirsten Zerger of McPherson.

The Kansas Legislature established court-ordered dispute resolution as a means to resolve issues without litigation, using an impartial third party to help the two sides reach a settlement.

The Office of Judicial Administration's dispute resolution coordinator, who oversees the program, is helped by the Advisory Council on Dispute Resolution. The council also advises the Kansas Supreme Court on implementation of the Dispute Resolution Act.
