Specialty Court Funding Advisory Committee

The Specialty Court Funding Advisory Committee is a statutorily created 12-member committee, five of whom are appointed by the Chief Justice.

The Legislature established the committee to:

  • evaluate resources available to assess and treat people assigned to specialty courts or for operating specialty courts;

  • secure grants, funds, and other property and services to operate specialty courts;

  • recommend to the judicial administrator resource allocation among specialty courts; and

  • recommend legislation and rules to aid developing specialty courts.

All Specialty Court Funding Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public. Meetings are held at the Kansas Judicial Center in Topeka unless indicated otherwise. Upcoming meetings are listed on this page, and they are subject to cancellation. The advisory committee posts approved meeting minutes as available.

The Specialty Court Funding Advisory Committee holds quarterly meetings.
Public comment can be made at the Kansas Judicial Building.
