You and the Courts of Kansas - Trial Court Administration

To aid in managing district court activities throughout the judicial district, chief judges are empowered to appoint either chief clerks or trial court administrators. In either case, it is the duty of the holder of that position to assist the chief judge in carrying out the administrative functions of the court.

Each trial court located in each of the 105 counties has a clerk of the district court. The clerk's office is the hub of the trial court system. All papers are filed with the clerk and all filing fees are paid into the clerk's office.
