Court of Appeals Docket and Argument Schedule

The Kansas Court of Appeals reserves certain dates each year on which to consider cases, typically by hearing oral arguments. When the Court of Appeals schedules a case to be considered, it puts the case on a docket. The Court of Appeals sits in panels of three at locations throughout the state, including its primary courtroom in the Kansas Judicial Center in Topeka. More than 1,700 appeals are being filed yearly in this court. The three-judge panels typically take up 30 appeals over a two-day period every month.
