Cherokee County is located in the southern-most corner of southeast Kansas and borders the Missouri state line to the east and the Oklahoma state line to the south. It is approximately 587 square miles with the estimated 2000 population at 22,552. The county seat is located in Columbus, Kansas.

All record search requests must be in writing. Copies of documents are 25 cents per page. Hourly search fee is $12.00. We have a public access computer with cases beginning in 1990.
