The 11th Judicial District consists of Cherokee, Labette, and Crawford counties. Serving this District are 6 District Judges and 1 Magistrate Judge, with Hon. A.J. Wachter appointed as the District's Chief Judge.
There are approximately 12,000 cases filed in the 11th Judicial District each year. Of these cases, about 1,200 are criminal cases (where persons are accused of a crime) and 5,000 are civil actions (usually suits for money). Juvenile cases account for 800 cases and the balance is a mixture of traffic, probate, treatment proceedings, and others.

Crawford County District Court in Girard will be closed for approximately six months beginning Friday, September 27, 2013, due to elevator construction. The Courthouse will remain open to the public.
During this time, all court proceedings will be conducted at the Judicial Center in Pittsburg located at 602 N. Locust.
Beginning September 30, all judicial inquiries can be made by calling (620) 232-2460.
